About the Practice

Our Focus is on Family Medicine and Natural Birth

IMG_0060-bwMosaic Family Medicine is a new solo medical practice devoted to your family’s well-being founded by family medicine physician, Dr. Sandra Minchow-Proffitt. We strive to collaborate with our patients on their healthcare decisions and jointly develop a plan for optimal health. We believe that pregnancy and childbirth are a normal part of the human experience. We see each individual as uniquely created, an intricate interplay of mind, body and soul. Mosaic Family Medicine strives to be a place of hope and healing, of birth and growth, a place where you will be seen as an individual, listened to, and where you are lifted into a renewed pattern of healing and wholeness.

Mission Statement

Mosaic Family Medicine, LLC, founded by Dr. Sandra Minchow-Proffitt, is dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized healthcare for young families in the St. Louis area — including care during pregnancy and birth — in a safe, comfortable, and relaxed environment.

Why “Mosaic Family Medicine”?

I chose the name Mosaic Family Medicine because it reflects my philosophy of healthcare so well. A mosaic is made of a number of smaller, varied, and sometimes broken, pieces arranged to create a larger unified pattern of beauty. Up close, these pieces are seen as fragmented and separate; however, when we step back, we can see the pattern and beauty of the whole.

In the same vein, we are all made up of smaller interconnecting parts of our body that optimally work together for the good of the whole person. On a wider scale, we as individuals with unique struggles and gifts are joined together within the larger network of our families and community.

As a family physician, I feel called to pay careful, healing attention to both the individual aspects of your health as well as your overall well-being, while also helping to foster a vital natural birth community.
